The Central Islip Fire Department Marching Band was started up in October of 1998. The Band made its first appearance at the Memorial Day Parade in Central Islip in May of 1999. The Band was also requested to perform at the official opening of the new Federal Court House in October of 2000.The first parade prize won by the Band was at the Southern New York Parade in North Merrick on June 9, 2001. They finished third at the Islip Town Parade in Islip on August 12, 2006, and captured their first New York State Parade prize for 3rd Place Best Appearing Continental F.D. Band at the Parade held in Utica on August 19 of the same year. |
