March 2, 2010 at 7:49 P.M. the Central Islip FD was requested to Suffolk Avenue and Carleton Avenue for a reported car that was struck by a train. First arriving Chief Ed Freudenberg was happy to report negative injuries to the male operator of the car. The Equipment train struck the front of the car and removed the entire nose of the car. FD units were on location to secure the vehicle. MTA Police were also on location to conduct their investigation. All FD units were returned to service.
