At the intersection of Lowell Avenue and East Walnut the Central Islip FD was operating at a motor vehicle accident that required the Hurst Rescue Tool being placed into service. A victim inside the vehicle was extricated by rescue crews and handed off to the CIHVA EMS crews to transport the victim to an area hospital with minor injuries.

All FD units were returned to service while Suffolk Police remained on scene to clear the vehicles from the roadway.
