April 13, 2010 The Central Islip FD was alerted to an electrical hazard on Old Nichols Road and Dean Street in Islandia. 1st Assistant Chief, Ed Freudenberg was first on location to report secondary wire's across the roadway resulting from a single vehicle accident with a passanger car into a pole.

Rescue 376 was ordered to secure the vehicle and Engine 374 closed the roadway off from rush hour traffic. Central Islip Hauppauge Volunteer Ambulance was on location treating a male patient with chest pains. FD Chief ordered LIPA to the scene while all FD crews returned to service, Suffolk Police remained on scene with the road closed for the repair of the utility pole and removal of the vehicle.
