Pinned Driver Requires Hurst Tool Operation

November 30, 2009 at 9:17 PM the Central Islip Fire Department responded to a reported motor vehicle accident at 106 Saint Johns Street. Arriving units confirmed a male victim that was pinned with injuries in a mini van. Rescue 3-7-18 placed their tool into operation to free the male. Suffolk Police ESU also assisted with their tool in the operation to remove the roof of the van. Central Islip Hauppauge EMS crews were on location treating the victim, which suffered non life threating injuries. Once the male was extricated, the scene was placed under control. All units were returned to service once the vehicles involved were secured.
